Program Description

"Every day our children and the 'grandmas' and 'grandpas' from MSH (My Second Home) come together in small groups. Whether they are drumming, dancing, creating great works of art, sharing stories or just sharing breakfast together, these daily interactions between the two age groups are filled with fun, acceptance, and mutual respect."

The Mount Kisco JEWEL Program is the first shared-site, intergenerational daycare program of its kind in Westchester County, New York.

Some of the shared child and senior activities include: drumming, dancing, artwork, story telling, and eating breakfast together.

My Second Home is an affordable intergenerational (senior and child) daycare program and in some cases an alternative for seniors to assisted living or nursing home care.

My Second Home offers seniors
wellness activities, personal care, nutrition, and transportation services. The aim of the program is to offer stimulating senior activities. The program also helps seniors contribute by taking on roles as leaders and historians for children.

My Second Home intergenerational daycare is located in a modern 20,000 square foot space, including outdoor play space suitable for picnics and an intergenerational garden.

This is an award winning program recognized by the Met Life Foundation and Generations United
