The"Indian Nursing Home" Program started by Dr. Mukund Thakar is a pioneer in providing nursing home care services to Indian Seniors living in the USA.
At Kings Harbor Multicare Center in New York, Indian senior residents are cared for by Indian doctors, Indian nurses and Indian therapists who are able to speak Hindi, Punjabi and Gujrati.
Indian food is served three times a day. Prayer service include Satsangs and Bhajans are available from the Hindu temple located inside the Nursing Home.Traditional Indian festivals, religious and cultural programs are celebrated along with Indian television shows and Indian music and other senior activities.
