On October 1 the UN International Day of Older People, activists of all ages in countries across the world fight ageism by taking part in marches, lobbying their governments on ageism and issues that affect older adults such as pensions, healthcare, housing or access to work.
HelpAge International's Age Demands Action Campaign Program encourages others to stop
age discrimination by signing the Age Demands Action Global Petition and demands a Convention on the Rights of Older People that will ensure that the elderly are included in society as equal citizens with equal rights.
