DEANA FOUNDATION

WHATProvides financial relief, emotional support and resources for family caregivers affected by dementia.

Program Description


“Our vision is to reach across the United States, awarding grants to families everywhere. We need your help to make that vision come to life. The success of our foundation depends on our volunteers!”

“The DEANA Foundation, named after Deana Alves, has been established to help middle class families with the overwhelming costs of care-giving for a loved one with dementia. Diagnosed at age 50, Deana’s family learned early on that resources for the middle class were few and far between.”

In order to qualify for dementia caregiver financial assistance, the DEANA Foundation asks for the following:

To qualify:

  • Patient & caregiver must fall within the middle class income range
  • Must be currently caring for a loved one with dementia
  • Live in a qualifying county

Be prepared to provide:

  • Tax return documents for the past two years
  • Letters of recommendation from 2 sources
  • A written letter of why you feel you deserve to be selected
  • Dementia/Alzheimer’s diagnosis of your loved one (verification from a doctor is okay)
