"ALZHEIMER'S DEMENTIA SNOEZELEN THERAPY" PROGRAM

Program Description


" Individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia achieve positive results with Snoezelen. We have seen consistent improvement across a wide spectrum of categories with a broad range of clients including improvement in effective state, cognition, communication, and functional behavior.

Participants in the "Alzheimer's Dementia Snoezelen Therapy" program have benefited from being in a relaxed state and shown improved breathing.

The distraction provided by the multi-sensory treatment room can provide those with Alzheimer's and other dementia relief from acute and chronic pain.

Alzheimer's or other dementia residents feeling depressed or anxious may open up and discuss their feelings.

For those residents who are not able to make it to the snoezelen therapy room, a cart with music, aroma, special lighting effects, and other items still travels from room to room at the nursing facility.

The "Alzheimer's Dementia Snoezelen Therapy" Program can act as a form of reminiscence therapy for those with Alzheimer's or other dementia.
