SYDNEY COOPER SENIOR SMILES AND BABY SENIOR SMILES PROGRAM
WHAT Volunteers of a younger generation visit with seniors and new moms and their babies also visit seniors as a part of Sydney Cooper Senior Smiles.
WHYIf a senior does not have children or grandchildren to visit them the program provides a much needed intergenerational socialization that is beneficial for all ages involved

Program Description
"Sydney Cooper Senior Smiles...strives to enrich and enhance the lives of residents at senior communities. Through regular volunteering, we aim to bridge the gap between generations by facilitating and nurturing friendships among people of all ages. We are not only dedicated to enriching the lives of our seniors by offering companionship, but those of our volunteers through their experience."

The Senior Smiles Program connects younger generations with seniors for intergenerational exchanges at nursing care facilities and nursing homes in the Los Angeles and Southern California area.
Volunteer training is provided on dementia, Alzheimer’s, and stroke, hearing, visual, and mobility impairments.
Senior Smiles Baby Senior Smiles groups meet in the Los Angeles area once a month as a group and visit with seniors for intergenerational socialization. (Dads are also welcome.)
Sydney Cooper Senior Smiles also manages the "PAWWS Pet Therapy" Program bringing pets into nursing homes to help seniors smile.
