Program Description
The Fairfax County "Home Repair for the Elderly" Program provides up to one week's labor and $500 in materials to complete necessary in-home repairs and maintenance for seniors. All materials and labor are free and are paid for by County and Federal funds.
The elder must reside in the property and be within a specific income level in order to receive home modification assistance.
Types of repairs for elderly may include: Painting, electrical, windows and doors gutter, walkway, installing grab bars roof leaks, broken hot water heaters, furnace repairs, electrical shorts or rewiring and plumbing leaks.
Any repairs requiring building permits or licensing will not be provided.
