Home modifications for seniors include:
- Wheelchair Ramps, Lifts and Handrails.
- Doorstep Widening and Handrails.
- Accessible Bathrooms and Showers and Toilets – shower seats, grab rails, walk-in baths.
- Stairlifts (straight and curved) and Handrails.
- Room Conversions and Extensions.
- Front Door and Porch Level Access.
- Radiators and Heaters.
Disability grants may be available to older adults wishing to make home adaptations through their local council Home Grants Section. Generally grants are available to older adults based on income level and if home adaptations would allow a person to continue to live safely and independently in their own home.
