Program Description
Aging in Place Initiative Workshops focus on a particular local issue in the community around aging in place.
The aim of the Aging in Place Initiative Workshops is to:
- Educate and increase awareness in the community on the importance aging in place
- Promote discussion between local and national experts and with input from the community
- Understand the obstacles and benefits of aging in place
- Generate discussion on an action plan to promote aging in place
- Empower residents including seniors and organizations to to take action to create senior friendly communities that help seniors age in place
JumpStart the Conversation Grants will be handed out to a certain number of communities to create an action plan to solve a problem relating to Aging in Place or an opportunity for the initiative to prosper in the community.
