Program Description
The Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care provides culture specific end of life literature, materials and resources in Chinese.
The coalition educates the public on end of life care issues through community outreach education, volunteer work, and caregiver and health care professional training.
The Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care programs include:
•Advance Care Planning workshops – to think about and discuss end of care issues.
•Heart to Heart Cafés – workshops combining tea, snack and a deck of cards with end of life care conversation prompts and wishes.
•Caregiver and Volunteer trainings
•Community education and outreach
•Professional healthcare forums, seminars, workshops
•English and Chinese end of life care materials
•Hospital Volunteer Ambassador program - provides Mandarin, Cantonese and Taiwanese speaking
patients and their loved ones with culture-appropriate support in facilities.
•Patient and family visits
•Toll free helpline
The coalition aims to provide end of life care resources which promote dignity and respect.
