Program Description


"Each year nearly 500,000 people die in the nursing home or shortly after being transferred from a nursing home to an acute care facility. Many people in nursing homes are elderly and have multiple chronic conditions that are not responsive to curative treatment."

The "Palliative Care Training" Program covers:

-How to improve the care of those at the end-of-life
-Definition of palliative care, the three major domains of palliative care
-Ways in which all disciplines can be involved in improving care for the dying
